We spent half a day in Athens, seeing as many sites as we could fit in. The weather was perfect and we were there early in the day before the worst of the crowds. Our guide told us that the Acropolis, as the main religious site of Greece, has been crowded for the last 6,000 years. The sense of history is overwhelming.
