Friday at The Hague.

The Hague is the seat of government in The Netherlands and also where the Royal Family lives and works.

The government offices are built around the Hall of Knights, built in the 1300s.
Parliament is here, the upper and lower parts of the government.
The twelve flags of the twelve provinces of The Netherlands are flown.

King Willem Alexander and Queen Maxima have little power but are popular with the people. He is a business man and interested in international water issues and sports; she works on micro economic programs for women all over the world. Their daughters are Amalia, Alexia and Ariane. Amalia is Princess of Orange and in line to be Queen. King Willem Maxima is from Argentina and was Catholic. Willem is Protestant, of course. Parliament passed a law so they could marry. Remember Queen Beatrix? Willem's mom. Willem was on the International Olympic Committee before he became King.
