Friday, more of The Hague

We walk to the Royalty Quarter in The Hague.

There's a large statue of William of Orange, the “Father of the Country.”

The King's offices are in this building, The Royalty Headquarters.

There's also a statue of Queen Wilhelmina, a dreadful piece of modern art that shows her fat and featureless. The inscription is “Lonely but not Alone,” implying that while she was lonely in life, she was never alone because the people were always behind her.
On the return to Amsterdam we stop at the Peace Palace for photos. Our guide, Wout, suggests that they need to work harder here to get peace in the world.
The Peace Palace at Dusk.
A rainbow and a modern windmill.
What a great sight at the end of the day!
